Laura Cooksey, a nationally-recognized Acne Expert, experienced acne from the time she was a teenager until her mid-thirties when she finally found an esthetician who helped her attain clear skin. She became a California state-licensed esthetician in 1990 and set out to learn everything about acne that she could. After practicing alone for many years, her dream of opening an acne-only clinic came true in 2005. Inspired by the life-changing results she achieved with her clients, licensed estheticians across the country have become certified in her proven protocol for treating acne.

I was working as a medical payment poster and after 6 years I needed a career change. Becoming an esthetician was something that I always thought about and decided to go to school for it. I became board licensed in 2018.  With my previous skills in medical payment posting and customer service, I joined Face Reality Skincare as their customer service representative later becoming the lead. I am so grateful to be a part of the Face Reality Team because of the amazing work they are doing in this skincare industry. Continuing to learn and grow is something I value and this is the best place to do so. On my off time I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, and hanging out with my husband and my dog. 

What brought you to Face Reality? Face Reality is well known in the area I lived in as an acne clinic. As an esthetician I saw that they had job opportunities and applied--I also suffered from cystic and body acne and wanted to learn more about it. Face Reality is the fit!

I went to Alameda Beauty College and have been an esthetician since 2013. I became an esthetician to help educate clients about their skin type and how to take care of their skin. Now I’m working with the Face Reality team and I am here to support our Certified Acne Experts in helping their customers get clear skin and having a thriving business. 

What is your favorite product? My favorite product is the Brighten-C Mask. I use the mask twice a week for 15 minutes. I love this mask because of the brightening ingredients and it improves the appearance of any discoloration.
